The Moss Furniture Wrap up – 2016 looks we love

December 22, 2016

As 2016 draws to an end, we thought we’d take a look at the styles and trends we loved most this year…and still do!  We hope you love them as much as we do…

Fake Foliage

A big sigh of relief for those of us not blessed with  green thumb. Fake foliage re-entered our homes in 2016 and, like the plants themselves, this is not a look that will be dying any time soon!

Marble Accents

Everyone loves a touch of class, and for that reason, marble is making its way back into our homes. Always elegant and notably luxurious, marble accents are adding touch of glamour to homes all over Sydney.

Formal Dining

2016 saw a revival of special dining rooms that banned sticky fingers and dirty feet. Luxe dining settings made a stunning comeback. Moss Furniture came to the party with the Lyn Caesarstone Dining table with polished stainless steel legs.

Pendant Lights

Hanging in there – big, bold and beautiful, pendant lights are still lighting up homes all over Australia. They fill large spaces, accentuate furnishings and are a feature in themselves. At Moss Furniture, we have many styles of pendant lights; electric or candlelit, for in or outdoor use.

Black & White

Solid black with pure white contrast is a trend that looks set to stay. These never fail neutrals look great by themselves or when broken up with bright colours and geometric patterns.

Shades of grey

Many more than 50 shades continued to trend throughout 2016. The look carries beautifully both inside and outside. Grey scale colours feature on walls, floors, cladding, exteriors, cabinetry and more. We got even more edgy with grey, giving our Custom Tokyo Dining Table a Raw Concrete Caesarstone surface.

Indoor-Outdoor items

The outdoor room has dominated home furnishing trends for the several years. Now we’re seeing it more blended with versatile furniture that can be used both indoors or outdoors.

Kitchen Feature pieces

On the topic of versatile furniture, multi-use kitchen pieces are taking off this year. While portable serving trays have been around for a while, larger portable furnishings are enjoying their time in the sun. Portable kitchen benches, bars and buffets add space, versatility and a feature piece for your kitchen, dining or outdoor area.

Matte Black & Metallics

While the shine hasn’t quite come off the metallic trend, the latest style is a blending of matte black with metallic accents. This set of brass topped vases with matching dish are new to the showroom and right on the money!

We have so loved bringing you beautiful, modern furniture this year and look forward to sharing more fabulous furnishings in 2017.

From all of us at Moss Furniture, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
